The Day Has Finally Come

.Just Another Monday.
Or is it?

I woke up this morning in College Station, just as I have done [nearly] every day for the past four years. I got dressed, jumped in my car and got on University; a typical daily routine. But instead of heading eastbound, today I headed west. I passed Wehner, Research Park and Easterwood Airport. I continued west and as I did, I watched College Station slowly fade away in my rear view mirror. My heart broke a little.

I am no longer a student at Texas A&M and I am no longer a resident of College Station. My college years have officially come to an end and it is time I move on to my adult life. If I am to be honest, I must admit I am not ready for this change. But life goes on and alas, I must go with it. Whereever it may lead me.

.My heart will always be in that little college town on the Brazos, even if my feet aren't.

Packing Up Memories

.Boxes.
.Big Brown Boxes.

Today I packed the first of my belongings in preparation for moving out on Friday. My walls are now bare, a not-so-subtle reminder of my impending departure from my beloved College Station. I always knew this day would come, but it used to seem so distant. Life is moving too fast, I just want things to slow down so I can soak up every last second of these final weeks.

And So The Journey Begins...

Who am I?

.bright-eyed twenty-something.
.[almost] graduate of Texas A&M.
.[about to be an] auditor at a Big 4 firm.
.a girl going through big changes in life.

My name is Emily and in just over 2 weeks I am going to join the ranks of the Texas A&M Former Students Association, with a Bachelor's in Accounting and a Master's in Marketing. I'm on the cusp of leaving behind my college life (which I am oh so in love with) and entering the real world. Oh yes, change is coming my way, but along with that change will be many adventures. I am afraid, yes, but I am also excited to see where life takes me.

.Sink or swim, I'm jumping right in.
