Juggling.

Now don't go getting all excited just yet; I have not taken up a new hobby. As much as I'd like to be traveling across Italy juggling bright colored balls like Giovanni [10 points if you can name that obscure literary reference], alas I am only juggling responsibilities. I have mountains of work to do, a house that desperately needs to be cleaned, a poor little weiner pup who needs some affection and some where in the midst of all that I need to sleep and have a little bit of fun. The past week has definitely been a beating keeping all the balls in the air. I'm stressed beyond belief and am having serious issues sleeping due to numerous nightmares about audit [pathetic, I know]. I'm hoping to unwind a bit this weekend and get some relaxation in, so fingers crossed that actually happens!

If you have any spare positive energy lying around, throw some my way please. I could definitely use some encouragement right now.

Incredibly Busy

Because that's exactly what I am right now. Hence the severe lack of blogging. I've been overloaded with work and my mini vacation to Austin last weekend didn't leave much time for blogging. I have big plans for my next post, so bear with me. I'll get around to it eventually, I swear! But alas for now those financial statements will not audit themselves and thus I must get back to work! Have a lovely week everyone!

Heaven.

I have never been a fan of Valentine's Day. I've always found it rather silly and not worth celebrating, boy or no boy. But this year, despite me telling him there would be no gift exchange, Ben was way too overly generous and gave me a gift card to Spa Nordstrom and I must say I've never been so excited about a gift before.

I tend to carry all my stress and tension in my shoulders and thus was in pretty desperate need of a professional massage. When Ben gave me the gift card, I pretty much immediately called to book an appointment. I booked a 60 minute massage and hydrating foot treatment for today, so I spent the past week impatiently waitng for the weekend to come so that I could have my day of relaxation. And today it arrived!

Walking through the Spa Nordstrom doors this morning I immediately felt a sense of calmness for I knew what was in store for me. Once I slipped on the robe I was transported to heaven. I have never worn anything so soft, it was hard to take it off when I left. My day began with a foot soak and a heated wrap on my shoulders. Then I got my foot treatment which involved an exfoliating scrub and moisturizing lotion. Next up was the main event, the hour-long massage. For those of you who have never had a professional massage, let me just tell you it is ah-mazing. I've never felt so relaxed. I received a full-body Swedish massage, with a focus on my problem area, the shoulders. The therapist was wonderful and really got a lot of my kinks out. Unfortunately, the 60 minutes flew by and I was sad it was over. After the massage, I lounged around in the robe for a while [seriously, I loved that robe] until I decided I should probably get on with my day, so I reluctantly made my departure.

My spa day may be over, but my body still feels amazing. My muscles are all relaxed and rejuvinated, my shoulders aren't sore for the first time in ages, and my skin is silky soft. I definitely encourage everyone to treat themselves to a spa day, trust me you won't regret it.
